Who We Are

A Local Michigan Lake Contractor With the Right Machines

Aqua Contracting is a hands-on aquatic contracting company. We work for lakefront homeowners, HOAs, and property managers across Oakland County and Southeast Michigan. Shea owns and runs the company. Call the number and you talk to the owner, not a call center, and his crew clears your water with the right machines for the job.

We do three things and we do them right. We cut and harvest lake weeds to open up your water. We pull weeds out by the root when a cut alone won't hold. And we dredge soft muck to bring back depth and a firm bottom. That's the work. We won't sell you something you don't need.

Why Homeowners Call Us

Weeds and muck are a lake problem, not a lawn problem

Weeds and muck are a lake problem, not a lawn problem. They need the right machines and a straight answer. Here is what you get when you call Aqua Contracting.

The right machines for the water

We run aquatic weed harvesters, mechanical cutters, and a cookie-cutter style dredge with a conveyor. Not a rake and a rowboat.

No chemicals in the water

We physically cut, pull, and haul the material out. We don't dump chemicals in the water your kids swim in.

Boat lanes and shoreline back in shape

We open clear boat lanes and swimming areas and get your shoreline access back, so you can actually use your waterfront again.

We know these lakes

We work Oakland County lakes like Cass, Union, Pontiac, Walled, and White Lake. We know how these bottoms and weed beds behave because we run them all season.

You deal with the owner

Steve White of Remerica United Realty said it straight. Shea and Cade were professional, on time, and communicated the whole way through the job.

Payment plans available

A bigger job doesn't have to hit all at once. We offer payment plans so you can get the work done now and spread the cost.

The Muck Problem

What is muck, and why does it keep coming back?

Muck is that soft black goo on the lake bottom that swallows your foot when you step in it. It builds up over years. Dead algae, leaves, grass clippings, twigs, and fish waste settle to the bottom and rot.

usable waterWATER SURFACEMUCK
Stage 1 of 4

A firm, clean lake bottom. Deep water off the dock and barely a weed in sight. This is what your shoreline is supposed to feel like.

What causes it

Years of dead algae, leaves, and organic gunk rotting on the bottom.

Why it matters

Muck is food. It feeds the weeds and algae, so more muck means more weeds.

The Owner

You deal with the owner, not a call center

Shea owns and runs Aqua Contracting Company out of Highland, Michigan. He started it, built the crew, and put his name on every job that leaves the shop. When you call, you get the owner on the phone, not a call center. He walks your shoreline with you, gives you a straight number, and makes sure the work gets done right.

As the company has grown, Shea trained a crew to run the equipment, so it is not always Shea himself on the barge. What does not change is who stands behind the job. Homeowners keep saying the same things about working with Aqua Contracting. Communication that stays clear from the first call to the last load hauled off. Professional, on time, and honest about the work. One customer called the change to her waterfront amazing. That is the standard Shea holds his crew to on every property, because in this part of Southeast Michigan, the next lake they clear might belong to your neighbor.

This is my company and my name on it. You get me on the phone, and my crew treats your lake like it is our own.

Straight Communication

You hear from Shea directly on the phone, and his crew keeps you posted from the first call to the last load hauled off, so you always know where your job stands.

Fair Pricing

Honest quotes and payment plans so a clear waterfront is not something only the biggest budget on the lake can afford.

Results That Last

We do not just skim the surface. We clear boat lanes, pull roots, and haul muck so the water off your dock stays open longer.

Respect For The Lake

We work inside Michigan and EGLE rules and treat every shoreline like it belongs to us, because the health of the lake is the whole job.

The Crew

The same crew on your water, every job

Cade is Aqua Contracting's full time crew member, and he runs with Shea on nearly every job. He keeps the work moving and the details right, from the first pass with the harvester to the last load hauled off the lake. Homeowners and realtors have called out Shea and Cade by name in their reviews for being professional, on time, and easy to work with.

What Michigan lakefront owners say about us

5.0

Rated on Google Reviews

I would give 10 stars if I could. These guys do an absolutely phenomenal job. I had a channel that was jammed full of vegetation. I expected they would only get through to about half. They made it the whole way. Only took about two weeks from call to job being done. Payment plans available. Great company to work with.

Straight answers to what homeowners ask

Still have questions?

Call Shea and ask. You talk to the guy who runs the equipment, not a call center.

(248) 215-6374

It depends on the size of the area, how bad the growth or muck buildup is, and which service fits your spot. Weed cutting and harvesting is our most affordable option. Root removal and dredging are bigger jobs, so they run more. Call us at (248) 215-6374 and we'll talk it through honestly and give you a real number, not a runaround. We also offer payment plans so a larger job doesn't have to be paid all at once.
